On the Incarnation 54.3
THE POSITION
His soteriology is deification and does not map onto forensic or infused justification; forcing either distorts him. The logic is exchange rather than courtroom — the Word takes a body conjoined to all by a like nature, and by that body death is undone and incorruption clothed on the race. Participation is the mechanism, so what happens to the believer is real transformation into likeness with God. He never poses the question of how a sinner is reckoned righteous.
4 Through these He has given us His precious and magnificent promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, now that you have escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.
