WHY THERE IS NO QUOTATIONA contemporary confession rather than a person, filed as a document alongside Westminster and the 1689 for the same reason: it states what it states, and no individual has to be credited with holding it. Eight are blank, and the blanks are not evenly boring: election is absent from a confession whose doctrine of sin is thoroughly Reformed, and the eschatological sequence runs from Christ's return to the new earth without mentioning a millennium.
