THE POSITION
No position located in this document, though it comes within one sentence of one. The Spirit is said to unite believers to Christ in faith, bring about the new birth, and dwell within the regenerate — naming faith and regeneration in the same breath without ordering them. This locus asks which comes first, and that is the one thing the sentence does not say.
WHY THERE IS NO QUOTATIONA contemporary confession rather than a person, filed as a document alongside Westminster and the 1689 for the same reason: it states what it states, and no individual has to be credited with holding it. It was read in full at coe22.com/about on 2026-08-24, where fifteen sections sit inside a collapsed accordion — the /beliefs/ URL returns 404 and only a staging-site copy is indexed by search engines, so the accordion is the only public canonical text found. Ten of eighteen positions are quoted from it. Eight are blank, and the blanks are not evenly boring: election is absent from a confession whose doctrine of sin is thoroughly Reformed, and the eschatological sequence runs from Christ's return to the new earth without mentioning a millennium. This document does not carry Joby Martin's positions. He founded the church and leads it, which makes the confession close to him and not the same as him; a pass on Martin himself would have to come from his own preaching.
WHAT OTHERS HOLD HERE
ABOUT THIS FIGURE
The confession of a multi-campus Jacksonville church founded by Joby Martin in 2012 and belonging to the Acts 29 network — Reformed on sin and justification, continuationist on the gifts, and conspicuously silent on election.
