Gavin Ortlund on Perseverance & eternal security

LIVING · REFORMED BAPTIST
STANDARD SCHOLARLY ACCOUNTAFFIRMS°
STANCE

No — the genuinely saved will certainly persevere

THE POSITION

Perseverance of the saints.

WHY THERE IS NO QUOTATIONOne quotation, on spiritual-warfare, from a machine transcript of a solo Truth Unites episode, and copyright is not the reason the rest have none: this map quotes MacArthur, Heiser and Sproul at length, all modern authors in copyright. An earlier pass is recorded under research/ortlund — the transcript panel would not open on either Truth Unites video tried, and both books are paywalled. That is an access problem rather than a permission problem, and it produced one honest finding: the original-sin cell is a null recorded as searched and not located, with its own reason. The other eight have had no pass at all.

SCRIPTURE
JOHN 10:28-29 · BSB

28 I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them out of My hand. 29 My Father who has given them to Me is greater than all. No one can snatch them out of My Father’s hand.
