Forensic — righteousness imputed, not infused
The righteousness of God is imputed, not infused as taught by the Roman Catholic church.
THE POSITION
Strictly forensic and explicitly imputational. God judicially declares the elect righteous; their sins are imputed to Christ and His righteousness to them. The statement names the alternative it is rejecting — infusion as taught by Rome — and dismisses righteousness gained by repeatable penance or communion as no righteousness at all.
