Satan is real and can put thoughts into a Christian's mind, and our own sin is like an open door to him. The normal way to deal with him is truth and love, gently teaching in the hope that God grants repentance. Asked whether demons should be cast out today, he answered "I do," and said it is much more common on the mission field.

Casting out sits at the edge of his practice rather than its centre: his "steady state, normal way" is the gentle teaching of 2 Timothy 2:24-26. Nothing was found on whether a believer can be possessed.

HOW FAR THIS CAN BE CHECKED

One quotation, on spiritual-warfare, from a freely published Ask Pastor John episode, and copyright is not the reason the rest have none. This map quotes MacArthur, Heiser and Sproul at length, all modern authors in copyright, and the Sproul pass was built on freely published video rather than his books. Piper is in the same position: what is missing for the other ten positions is a primary-source pass, which nobody has run. They are established — well-attested accounts of his views, not checked against his own words — and they stay there until someone does the work.
